GOVERNMENT HOUSE.
HONGKONG. 15th. December, 1917.
Sir,
I have the honour to forward a copy of a
report of proceedings of the Public Works Committes in which
it was recommended that a scheme for widening Queen's Road
East should be undertaken,
in the report.
2.
I enclose a copy of the plan referred to
The road in question is far too narrow for
its present traffic; but that traffic will be partly diverted
to the new 100 foot road along Praya East, when the reclama-
-tion scheme is completed.
3.
I have now to ask your covering authority
for this widening scheme. The cost will be spread piecemeal
over a number of years, and a very great public improvement
will eventually be effected.
I have the honour to be,
Sir.
Your most obedient,
humble servant,
Claud Seven
Officer Administering the Government.

VALTER LONG, M.P.,
